Shri Subhash Mittal has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Indian Silk Export Promotion Council,Mumbai at Council’s Board meeting held on 26th September 2008 at Mumbai.

A widely traveled businessman and has vast experience of  over 30 years in export field of Indian hand knotted carpets, handicrafts, home textiles and garments. His pragmatic approach to the day to day operation problems of the export trade in respect of Foreign Trade Policy, customs issues, Central Excise, Banking, MDA and MAI schemes.

A veteran exporter, Shri Mittal has been associated with the Council for many years and in the past he has been the Chairman of the council. He is closely associated with the Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) in the capacity as past Vice President, Chairman (NR) and presently convener and member of managing Committee. He has also been associated with Carpet EPC., PHD Chamber of Commerce, Northern Indian Shippers Association and Indian Floor covering Exporters Association.

He has been instrumental in taking up various Export related matters with Government departments from the platforms of reputed organizations.

Dr. Bimal Mawandia of M/s Vineetaz Exports Pvt. Ltd. has been unanimously elected as the Vice Chairman of the Council.
